Most versions have a 6-foot cargo bed, but a 7-foot bed is available on the regular cab with two-wheel drive. Options for the xlt level include an am/fm with a 6cd changer 240), privacy glass 110), rear sliding window 125), back step bar 300), 15-inch alloy wheels 315), remote start 435), and keyless keypad 95). It’s not necessarily distinctive and it’s certainly not on the cutting edge of style, but it’s an honest look that’s clean, not un-handsome, and timeless in a way. Otherwise, everything about the ranger is perfectly normal and delivers no surprises. Two available rear-hinged doors (depending upon trim level) allow easy access to the supercab's rear quarters. the center pod for climate and audio systems has easy-to-use controls. The ranger has benefitted over the years from numerous detail improvements and upgrades to various portions of the running gear. when equipped with the overhead-cam 4. 0-liter v6 engine the ranger has more than adequate performance around town or on the highway. This provides closer ratios for better throttle response when accelerating, towing a trailer or driving off-road. It could scamper up mountain grades or effortlessly pass a line of heavy freight haulers. the ranger handles bumps and curves with confident dexterity. A high ground clearance enables the ranger 4x4 to clear ruts and bumps easily. Watch for cash rebates and other incentives. The high-level models deliver strong performance on and off road. The ford ranger has been america's best-selling compact pickup for many years. Available as a 4x2 regular cab or 4x2 and 4x4 supercab the ranger is offered in three trims: xl, xlt, and sport. 2006 acura mdx review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Through the five model years since, the mdx has been steadily improved in all areas. the body has grown more rigid, allowing better vibration control and a smoother ride. Power has increased, and a more compact five-speed automatic transmission shifts even more smoothly than before. Side curtain airbags covering all three seating rows were added, as were tire pressure monitors. Front and rear end styling has been redone, with a more aggressive edginess. Acura has updated the optional navigation system and added a rearview camera that engages when the transmission is in reverse. A dvd entertainment system with wireless infrared headphones is available. The system comes complete with two infrared wireless headphones and a wireless remote control. It comes with voice recognition and three months' prepaid subscription to onstar's basic service (emergency assistance and airbag deployment monitoring); the full onstar package, with route support and concierge service, is optional 399/year). The system incorporates a rearview camera that transmits pictures from behind the vehicle onto the navigation screen when the mdx is in reverse gear. standard safety features comprise the required dual-stage front airbags, three-point seatbelts and adjustable head restraints for all seating positions and child safety seat anchors (latch) in rear seats. In addition, fitted to all mdxs are front seat-mounted side airbags that protect occupants' upper body in side impacts and side curtain airbags covering all three rows of seats that insulate against head injury in rollovers as well as side impacts. A standard tire pressure monitoring system uses sensors in the valve stem of each wheel to alert the driver when tire pressure drops significantly below the recommended level. The mdx also comes with antilock brakes, electronic brake force distribution (which balances front-rear brake application depending on speed and vehicle load) and brake assist (which optimizes brake application in emergency stops). These active safety features can help the driver avoid a wreck. walkaroundthe acura mdx won't draw a gasp for unique design or beauty of line. It looks sturdy and stable with a wider, firmer stance than some competitors. The mdx's angular headlights house projection-type beams. An aerodynamic chin spoiler integrated into the front bumper directs air smoothly to the sides of the car. The rear end sports large taillights and dual exhaust tips. in other words, the mdx still looks like an mdx. Limited overhang at either end contributes to a dense, compact demeanor that belies this suv's heft and somewhat exaggerates the size of the mdx's mid-section. Some believe the large greenhouse adds to the straightforward sense and strong presence. Others claim it makes the mdx seem more like a minivan than a big suv. We say, both. what's most interesting, and isn't obvious except in a body-off view, is the duality of construction under the mdx. It is both unibody and body on frame. This approach gives uncommon rigidity and strength gained from longitudinal rails with eight box-section cross members. It's the thinking engineers' path to making a car/truck both a car and a truck, whichever is appropriate to the occasion. The hoped-for effect is noise, vibration and harshness control on par with a car and load and stress management characteristic of a truck. The company also claims its suv can be hit from behind by a vehicle going 35 mph without the third row of seats being breached. The materials are generally high grade, and the fit and matching of various panels is first-rate. airy, perforated leather adorns the front and second row seats, side panels, steering wheel and shift knob. There is nothing swoopy or eye-popping about the instrument panel, just easily read instruments with an unobstructed view. Simple, large knobs are easy to operate whether that hand is wearing gloves or has long fingernails. The overall sense is the serenity of simplicity. the air bag fits flat into the top of the passenger-side dash, where it deploys first up and then back toward the passenger, a sequence some crash analysts believe provides the most effective protection in frontal collisions. attention to detail is evident throughout. The sun visors have extensions for those sharp shafts of sun angling low at dawn and dusk. The roof-mounted grab handles don't go clunk against the ceiling when released; they whisper their damped way back into place. The beverage holders are engineered specifically for the seats they serve, with those in the rear configured to hold larger soda and water bottles and rectangular juice boxes and those in the forward areas with multi-tiered, stepped bottoms to fit containers of different sizes and rubber lips to corral tipping cups. automatic headlights and an auto-up feature for the driver's window are standard. We see these seats as good for only occasional use, not regular use. A convenient walk-in feature slides the mdx's entire second seat forward with the touch of a lever, located on the curb side. When not in use, both the second and third rows fold to leave a flat surface with no protrusions to scratch luggage or inhibit cargo loading. The seats split for a varied mix of people and stuff. and with those second and third seats stowed, there's room for a ton of stuff. With 81. 5 cubic feet of cargo space, the mdx dwarfs five-passenger competitors such as the bmw x5 (54. 4 cubic feet) and infiniti fx (64. 5). It beats all but the volvo xc90 (85. 1 cubic feet) among seven-passenger competitors. A thoughtful touch is room enoug.

Based on a car platform, it's considered a crossover vehicle, like the honda cr-v. No v6 is available, nor is there a third row for seven-passenger seating. the rogue is meant as a daily commuter, not an off-road adventure vehicle. Its all-wheel-drive system is intended for snow and rain, not rocks and mud. A so-called crossover, it's based on an economy-car platform. The towing capacity is only 1,500 pounds. We think it's one of the better handling small suvs, but it's not sporty. The ride allows for a lot of road feel and can become harsh on rough and irregular surfaces. Road imperfections and engine sounds intrude into the cabin. the cabin is pleasant, with materials that would look good in higher-priced vehicles. The controls are easy to use and understand, but the rogue lacks creature comforts and gadgets filtering down to other low-priced vehicles. There is no navigation system, for instance. an suv should provide cargo utility, and the rogue is up to the task. The rear seats fold flat and, on the rogue sl, so does the front passenger seat to permit longer items to be loaded. For 2010, rogue s models are now available with what nissan calls the 360 degree value package, which includes 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, privacy glass, a rear spoiler, a chrome grille, and a rearview monitor integrated into an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Nissan claims the package price saves about $1,000 compared to buying these options separately. with prices starting around $20,000, the rogue is a worthy competitor vs. Its carlike road manners, cargo utility and prudent fuel economy make it appealing. lineupthe nissan rogue is offered in two trim levels, s and sl. Rogue s is also available with all-wheel drive 21,540). the new 360 degree value package 1,040) adds 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, privacy glass, chrome grille, rear spoiler, and a rearview monitor integrated into an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Splash guards 125) are the only other factory option for the s model. rogue sl with front-drive 21,930) or all-wheel drive 23,130) adds a six-way manually adjustable driver's seat, fold-flat front passenger seat, trip computer, an additional 12-volt power outlet, vanity mirrors, privacy glass, roof rails and a few other amenities. Tires upgrade to 225/60r17 on aluminum wheels. buying the sl also expands the option list. On all-wheel-drive sl's the premium package 2,230) also adds xenon headlights with manual leveling. A power glass sunroof is available 950) on either sl model. Dealer-installed accessories include floor mats 185), a towing package 450), and roof-rail crossbars 100). safety features include dual front airbags, torso-protecting front side airbags, head-protecting side-curtain airbags with rollover sensors, front seat active head restraints, latch-style child seat anchors, tire-pressure monitor, abs with brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution (ebd), and vehicle dynamics control electronic stability control with traction control. walkaroundthe nissan rogue appears to be aimed squarely at the honda cr-v. The styling is swoopy, with rounded lines and a wedge shape from front to rear. Flared rear shoulders and an upswept window line give the rogue a sporty feel. ornamentation is minimal. A black and chrome nissan badge up front is flanked by a body-color grille. Only that badge and the headlights lend any contrast to the front end. There is even less character to the sides, even with the chrome door handles which have been added for 2010. Side mirrors are black on the rogue s and body color on the rogue sl; and the standard wheels on the s are stamped steel with plastic covers (which look like five-spoke alloys, from a distance). The 17-inch aluminum wheels that come with the sl add a touch of drama, with five bifurcated spokes that seem to actively cling to the rim. In contrast, the 16-inch units that dress up s models with the 360 degree package are a more restrained and traditional five-spoke design. We're ambivalent about the chrome grille that comes with the package, which brightens the front end but fails to enhance its character. we think the rogue looks best from the rear, where the dark rear glass, eye-shaped taillights, rounded panels and license plate recess give it some definition. Unfortunately, the rear liftgate lacks a separate opening glass. among compact suvs, the rogue has a sleeker, car-based crossover look, like the cr-v, as opposed to the upright mini-suvs like the ford escape or jeep liberty. the rogue is the longest vehicle in the class, though it doesn't look it. At 182. 9 inches overall, it is even longer than the seven-passenger toyota rav4 and the seemingly large jeep liberty. interiorat first glance, the interior of the nissan rogue seems nice if somewhat plain. Closer inspection reveals quality materials impressive for the price. The dash, for instance, is molded in a soft-touch material that seems as if it might be right at home in an infiniti. The door tops also have a nice soft-touch material. The remainder of the materials is price-appropriate plastic that fits together well. the instrument panel features only two gauges, the tachometer and speedometer. It has substantially-sized buttons, but the presets are grouped in a, b and c folders, instead of am and fm sets. It takes some getting used to but, with 18 total presets, most drivers will be able to program all of their favorite stations. An auxiliary input jack is provided for mp3 player connectivity. storage for small items up front is adequate. The center console has two integral cupholders and a small tray that will work for holding little odds and ends. The tilt steering wheel helps, and there is enough head and leg room for all but the tallest drivers. There is good visibility to the front and the side mirrors are large, but over-the shoulder visibility is compromised by a smallish rear window and rear side windows that are pinched at the rear. The ride height makes getting into and out of the rogue very easy. the second row is usefully roomy, with head and leg room that can accommodate adults, even with the front seats moved far back. Three adults in the rear will be cramped, but they should be able to deal with short trips. Toe space under the front seats is plentiful. cargo space is good but not at the top of the class. The second-row seats are split 60/40, and they fold flat in an easy one-step motion to open up to the maximum 57. 9 cubic feet of cargo space. the sl model includes a folding front passenger seat, which folds almost flat to allow loading of longer items. While it is among the better handling compact suvs, it's not sporty. It drives more like a car than an suv, but it has more body lean in turns than most cars. The electric-assist steering requires only a light effort, but it feels natural and direct with good road feel. In fact, the rogue transmits more road feel to the driver through the steering wheel than most compact suvs. the ride is generally comfortabl.
